In the beingn presence of Jagadguru Pujyashri Jayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamigal , Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a 100-bed Tata Steel funded Super Specialty Eye Care Hospital at Samarjhola village under Hinjilicut block of Ganjam district on Saturday - 11 Jun. 2016 The hospital, which is to be operated by Sankara Eye Hospital of Tamil Nadu, will offer modern eye-care services to the people of Ganjam and nearby districts, a press communiqué issued by the steel company stated.

At the inauguration ceremony, while blessing the gathering Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamigal stressed upon the need for eyes both for physical and spiritual aspect of life. Naveen Patnaik, in his address, said, “I am very happy to see the hospital on ground within a short span of one year. I am sure that this hospital will become a pioneer in eye care treatment in the region. I am thankful to Sankara Eye Hospital and Tata Steel for this noble initiative.”

ओडिशा मे नेत्र के लिये विशेष अस्पताल ११ जून २०१६ को ,जगत्गुरू पूज्यश्री जयेन्द्र सरस्वती स्वामीजी के दिव्य उपस्थिति मे, ओडिशा के मुख्य मन्त्री श्री नवीन पटनायक ने टाटा स्टील द्वारा वित्त पोषित ,१०० बिस्तों वाला सुपर स्पेशियलिटी आई केयर अस्पताल का उद्घाटन किया । यह अस्पताल गंजम जिले के समरझोला ग्राम मे है। यह अस्पताल, तमिलनाडू के शंकरा आई अस्पताल द्वारा संचालित किया जायेगा। स्टील कम्पनी के प्रेस विज्ञप्ति मे यह बताया गया कि इस अस्पताल मे गंजम एवं आस पास के इलाक़ों के लोगों को आधुनिक आई केयर सेवाएँ उप्लब्द कराई जायेंगी। उद्घाटन के समय ,जगत्गुरू पूज्यश्री जयेन्द्र सरस्वती स्वामीजी ने सभा को आशीर्वाद देते हुए कहा कि नेत्र जीवन के भौतिक एवं आध्यात्मिक पहलुओं के लिये अत्यावश्यक हैं। श्री नवीन पचनायकजी ने अपने भाषण मे टाटा स्टील एवं शंकरा आई अस्पताल को धन्यवाद देते हुए कहा कि उन्हें अति प्रसन्नता हुई है कि यह अस्पताल एक साल मे तैयार हो गया और उन्हें इस बात का विश्वास है कि शीघ्र ही यह अस्पताल इस स्थान मे आई केयर मे मार्ग निर्माता बन जायेगा।
