Loka Dharma Seva Foundation is planning temple cleaning projects in and around Chennai from JUNE 2009.

With the blessings from the Acharyas of Kamakoti Peetam, the regular Gayathri Homam will be performed on 26th April 2009 at Sankaramatam, West Mambalam. Homam will start at 9a.m. and poornahoodi will be at around 11.30a.m. Mahaprasadam will be distributed after the Poornahoodi.

With the blessings from the Acharyas of Kamakoti Peetam arrangements are being made to celebrate Sankara Jayanthi Mahotsavam at Sankara Matam, West Mambalam and Sankara Matam, Thambu Chetty Street from 25th April to 29th April 2009.

Vedotharan Vaidhiga Sabha is conducting Sri Sankara Jayanthi Mahotsavam at New No. 61(Old No. 50), Vellala St., Purasawalkkam, Chennai on 29-4-2009( Virothi Year, Chithirai 9th).

Veda Dharma Sastra Paripalana Sabha, Kumbakonam(Estd. 1942) is organizing Veda Sammelanam from 14 to 17 May 2009 at Sri Sankara Vidyalaya, 539(Old no. 162), Velachery Main Road, Adi Nagar, East Tambaram, Chennai – 39(Tel. 22396153, 22791691).

Daily programme, consisting of Veda Vyasa Puja and Veda Parayanam and homams, commences at 7.30 am on all days and the morning session concludes at 11.30 am. The evening parayanam begins at 3 pm and ends at 5 pm. This will be followed by Upanyasams from 6 to 7 pm everyday.

Devotees are invited to participate and receive the blessings of Acharya Swamijis.

The Jayanthi Mahotsavam of Sri Adi Sankaracharya will be celebrated at Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Srimatam Samasthanam, Kanchipuram, from Saturday the 25th April 2009 to Wednesday, the 29th April 2009. Veda Parayanam, Bhashya Parayanam, Bhajans, Sloka Parayanas, discourses etc. are to be conducted and the celebrations include Rudrabhishekam to Sri Acharya on 29th April 2009, the Jayanthi day. On the 29th, Abhishekam will be performed to the Adi Sankara Statue on the Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya University Campus at Enathur 7.30 am onwards. Devotees are invited to participate in the functions and receive the blessings of Sri Tripurasundari Sametha Sri Chandramouleeswara Swami and Acharya Swamijs.
