Devi Kamakshi visited Srimatam on 20 February 2013, during the Annual Brahmotsavam. Every day during the Brahmotsavam, Utsava Kamakshi is taken in procession in the morning and evening through all the four Rajaveedhies. On 6th Day- Sri Devi Kamakshi is taken in procession on the wooden chariot and Sri Devi stays in the Sankara Matam from morning to evening. During this time all respects are paid to Sri Devi and the temple staff. As per this tradition, Kamakshi Ambal came to Srimatam on the 20th. His Holiness Pujyashri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji and His Holiness Pujyashri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji performed various pujas and sevas to the goddess.
