Sankara Jayanthi celebrations begin at KanchiAdi Sankara Jayanthi - Procession

Sri Sankara Jayanthi celebrations commenced in Kanchipuram yesterday. Sri Acharya's Vigraham was taken in a procession to the holy tank of Sarva Teertham and Abhishekam & Puja was performed. Every year as part of Shankara Jayanthi celebrations, Acharya vigraha is taken to various teerthas in Kanchipuram and Abhisheka and vishesha pujas are conducted.
His Holiness Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji accompanied the procession which began at Sri Sankara Matam and passed through Salai St and reached Sarva Teertham. The procession returned through the LingappaIyer Street where many devotees offered Purnakumbham to the Acharya & His Holiness.
