About Uttiramerur
Uttiramerur is located at about 35 Kms from Kanchipuram, and was once known as Chaturvedi Mangalam. There are several temples here built by the Pallavas and Cholas. The inscriptions on the walls of the Sundaravaradar temple show how democracy was practised more than 1,000 years ago.
