His Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji unveiled an imposing statue of Lord Siva at Vedal, on the outskirts of Kanchipuram on 18 October 2010. The Shiva Statue is located right outside the Kanchi Kamakoti Cultural Centre at Vedal at a distance of about 5 kms from Kanchipuram, on the Chennai - Bangalore Highway. A nandi statue faces Lord Shiva. The pedestal of Lord Shiva's statue has various deities including Eeshanan, Indran, Agni, Yaman, Kuber, Nairuti, Varuna and Vayu.
