Cauvery Harathi at Bhagavat Padi Thurai
-His Holiness Pujya Shri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal & His Holiness Pujya Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal performed Harathi to Cauvery river at the Bhagavat Padithurai (Ghat) at 6 pm today. The event begun with puja to Kalashas containing sacred teertham. The Kalashas were kept in the Sarva Shakha Sammelanam for twelve days. More than eighty Vedic scholars had performed Rig, Shukla Yajur (Kanva & Madhyandina Shakhas) , Krishna Yajur, Yajur (Maitrayaneeya), Samaveda (Kauthuma, Ranayaneeya, Jaimineeya, Gurjara Shakhas), Atharva Veda (Shounaka & Pippalada). His Holiness poured the sacred Kalasha Teertha in the river Cauvery and performed Harathi. Later Deepams were lit and floated in the river. This will be held till 22nd February.
