Visit to Shiva Vishnu Temple Berhampur, Odisha

His Holiness Pujya Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal visited Odisha state on 23rd November 2016 in connection with visit to Sankara Eye Hospital, Samarjhola, Ganjam District, Odisha, set up with the benign blessings of Kanchi Acharyas.
His Holiness Pujya Shri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal had performed Bhoomipuja & a year later performed inauguration of the new facility and dedicated the same to the state of Odisha. Several important delegates including Chief Minister of Odisha had attended both the functions.
His Holiness left Vishakhapatnam Shankara Matham at 5 AM by road and reached Berhampur at 9 AM which is about 275 kms. His Holiness first visited Shiva & Vishnu Temple situated near Shankara Matham where Kanchi Paramacharya had performed Chaturmasya Vratam.
The temple houses Shiva & Vishnu shrines. Akhanda Bhajan is performed in the temple. Special Pujas & Harathi was performed in the benign presence of His Holiness.
