Rameswaram Yatra - Vasantha Panchami at Tiruvanaikaval 16/2/2021

Rameswaram Yatra Tiruvanaikaval Camp : Vasantha Panchami Arrival 15th Night 8 PM Dep 16th Evening 6 PM His Holiness arrived at Tiruvanaikkaval on Monday evening at around 8 PM from Tindivanam. On the outskirts of the city, His Holiness was received by devotees with prasadams of various temples and then received traditional Purna Kumbha Maryada at Tiruvanaikkaval by Pandithas & other devotees of Tiruvanaikkaval. His Holiness walked along the North Mada street and received Purna Kumbhams offered by Pandithas & Vedic Scholars. Prasadams from Jambukeshwaram Temple & Srirangam Ranganatha Swamy temple were offered to His Holiness. The Vasantha Panchami Bhikshavandanam was performed by devotees on 16/2/2021. Vasantha Panchami is celebrated as the Aarvirbhava day of Lord Chandramouleeswara in Srimatam. Special Naivedyams are offered on the occasion. Like Vijayadashami in South India, Vasantha Panchami is very special in North India where several people perform Aksharabhyasa. Archakas from Uchi Pillaiyar temple presented Prasadams from the temple on Vasantha Panchami. A delegation of devotees from Rameswaram led by Vedic Scholars and representative of all communities had darshan of His Holiness at Tiruvanaikaval and once again welcomed His Holiness to the holy Kshetra of Rameswaram. Sri Vidyashreesha Teertha Swamiji, Peetadhipati of Sri Vyasaraja Matha met with His Holiness in the evening. The camp then left for Ilayathangudi around 6 PM the same day. Tiruvanaikaval or Jambukeshwara Kshetram is deeply connected with Shankarabhagavatpada. The great Acharya adorned Akhilandeswari Amman with Tatankas of Srichakra and pleased the Goddess. In Adi Sankara's Ashtotttara Shata Namavali the nama- श्रीचक्रात्मकताटङ्कतोषिताम्बामनोरथाय नमः denotes this connection. The Vinayaka shrine in front of Akhilandeswari Amman too was consecrated by the Acharya. Whenever required, the Tatankas are repaired and consecrated by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swamigal of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. His Holiness on 12th December, 2018 had performed the Kumbhabhishekam of the temple. The Shankar Math on the North Mada street stands on ancient stone structure. The Math is famously knows as Jagadguru Vidyasthanam. Several great scholars have taught Vedas & Sastras in the Jagadguru Vidyasthanam. Presently Rig Veda Pathashala is being run with the blessings of His Holiness. The Uchi Kala Abhisheka materials for Akhilandeshwari Amman is given from the Math daily. A Vruddhashrama is also located inside the premises.
