In a deeply inspiring and spiritually uplifting event, His Holiness Pujya Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal and His Holiness Pujya Shri Satya Chandrashekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal graciously blessed twelve accomplished Shastric scholars who successfully completed sixteen rigorous examinations over a span of six years in the Gurukula system.
The scholars, trained under various eminent Gurus, were honoured with shawls, honorariums, and certificates in recognition of their scholarly dedication and excellence.
Delivering an address in lucid Sanskrit, His Holiness praised the persistent efforts of both students and teachers in preserving and propagating the Shastric tradition in its pristine form. His Holiness recalled the unstinted efforts of Sri Tenali Anjaneya Sastry, the convenor of the Sabha for its successful conduct. His Holiness emphasized the vital importance of applying Shastric knowledge for the welfare of society and for
Dharma Pracharam.
Furthermore, His Holiness highlighted the need to study and understand other thought streams, encouraging a broad-based assimilation of core ideas. This, he said, would reaffirm the eternal relevance of Bharatiya Jnana Parampara (Indian knowledge traditions).
Calling upon the Tenali Sabha, His Holiness urged the organization to create greater opportunities for traditional scholars, including preparing for competitive examinations required for teaching positions in universities and academic institutions. This would ensure that their deep knowledge is channelled effectively for the benefit of students across the nation.
Stressing the transformative power of Shastric study in shaping Manovrutti (refined mental disposition), His Holiness inspired the scholarly community to take up the critical edition and publication of unpublished manuscripts lying in libraries such as those in Baroda, Kanchi, Mysore, and Thanjavur.
The Kanchi Veda Vedantha Shastra Sabha, Tenali, known for its comprehensive syllabus and well-structured examination system, continues to be highly sought after by serious students of Shastra. The rigorous format ensures deep-rooted understanding and mastery over the respective Shastras.
The event was attended by Kanchi University Chancellor Sri Kutumba Sastry, Sri G Srinivasu, Vice Chancellor Kanchi University, Sri GSR Krishnamurthy, Vice Chancellor, National Sanskrit University, Tirupati, Sri Rani Sadashivamurthy, Vice Chancellor, Sri Venkateshwara Vedic University and several scholars in Tirupati. Sri Ramlal Sharma conducted the proceedings.
