Students of Sri Maharshi Vidya Mandir conducted a Philatelic Exhibition at Shrimatham, Kanchipuram on the 6th of August 2011. His Holiness Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji viewed the various exhibits and blessed the students and staff who organized the exhibition. It was a great learning experience for the Students of Shrimathams' Shaivagama Patashala, who visited the exhibition and viewed the stamps, postal covers and other exhibits with keenness. The student exhibitors from Maharshi Vidya Mandir explained the details of the stamp collection vividly and with enthusiasm to the visiting patashala students. Sri P.S.Seshadri of Chennai, who holds the Limca Book of Records - National Record 2011 for the largest collection of commemorative stamps of a single design and whose collection includes more than 1,50,000 postally used stamps, participated in the exhibtion and received the Blessings of Their Holinesses. This event provided a unique platform in which students belonging to the traditional Patashala system interacted with those pursuing contemporary school education.
